Russian president Vladimir Putin’s bodyguards carried a “poop suitcase” to collect his stool during last week’s Alaska summit with US President Donald Trump, The Express US reported.
The report said this unusual security measure was aimed at preventing “foreign powers” from obtaining information about the Russian leader’s health. “Putin’s bodyguards collect his faecal waste and bring it back to Russia when the leader travels abroad,” The Express US wrote. According to reports, the practice of collecting Putin’s waste has been practised for years, such as during Putin’s visit to France in May 2017.
Things your poop can tell about your health
A proper bowel movement is considered to be a critical part of digestion and your gut health. According to experts, stool formed by the large intestine is the body’s way of getting rid of waste. And if you have some issues regarding your gut or digestive system, you need to undergo tests to identify any issues related to it.
A few things that change in your poop’s colour and consistency could reveal:
Oily and greasy stools
If your poop appears oily and has a greasy consistency, which is difficult to flush, it could be a signal that your body is not able to properly digest fat. According to doctors, the changes could be due to an infection, as nutrients may not be digested due to celiac disease or an issue with the pancreas, like pancreatitis.
Pencil-thin stools
Also known as narrow stool, this happens most likely due to muscle contractions in the large intestine, as it helps to concentrate waste.
If there is a sudden and consistent change in your stool, always being thin, it could mean there is a blockage in your colon, leading to irritable bowel syndrome, and you should see your doctor.
Colour changes
A change in the colour of your stool is among the most common concerns people have. Doctors say it happens when the foods you eat and the kind of bacteria living in your colon both cause changes.
While, according to experts, most changes in the colour of stool are not cause for concern, if your poop appears black or bloody, it could signal other problems with the digestive system or even deadly diseases like cancer.
Rocks and pebbles
A pebble-like or rocky poop is mostly a sign of constipation. Doctors say this type of stool is hard, lumpy, and difficult to pass. It occurs when stools remain in the large intestine for too long, and the colon absorbs too much water, causing the stool to harden. While often a result of lifestyle factors, pebble poop can also be a symptom of underlying health conditions.
The large intestine helps to concentrate waste by absorbing water. If muscle contractions in the large intestine are not working properly, waste left in the colon becomes even more concentrated, resulting in harder stool.
